JUST DO IT…

So I’m sitting here at the front desk of a shelter I’ve been residing in for about 9 months. I remember when I first got here, and the men’s manager of the shelter was assigning tasks for team members(people who were given an extended stay). When asked if I wanted to do front desk- I said no. I prefer to be behind the scenes. At the time, I had major anxiety when it came to dealing with people in that capacity. Having to interact with people who are typically associated with being “uncivilized”( at least that is the mindset I carried) was a worry for me.

Several months later- I would be “pushed” into a front desk opportunity because we were short staffed. Was I nervous and filled with anxiety, yes. Did I stop those feelings from letting me push forward? No. This was the beginning of a transformation I KNEW was required for me to become the man God planned for me to become. And I knew at that point in my spiritual growth- that even though I felt fear and anxiety, that was no longer a reason for me to run away from opportunities[no matter how insignificant they may appear]. My mindset had changed enough to know better. So I did better.

“Do not despise these small beginnings, for the LORD rejoices to see the work begin, to see the plumb line in Zerubbabel’s hand. The seven lamps represent the eyes of the LORD that search all around the world.)

Zechariah 4:10 NLT.

Additionally, I was asked to do the announcements. Doing the announcements requires you to speak before the chapel service, presenting any activities that may be going on in the neighborhood, along with reminding the attendees of the rules required to follow to sit for chapel service.

Let me tell you – that was the most nerve-wracking opportunity, even more than the front desk role. However, I did it. Nervous and all. There were times I felt my voice shaking, my hands shaking, my knees about to buckle as I spoke in front of an audience of about thirty people or less. They say every time you do something, you get better at it. Ummm.. I still get nervous before presenting- but I see it as an opportunity to rely on the Spirit of God to pull me through.

It just does not sit well with me to refuse to do something I believe in my heart that God has opened the door for me to do. So if this is the “small beginnings” of grander stages and larger audiences I will have to speak, present or perform in front of to fulfill my purpose and accommodate gracefully, God’s plans for me life…then “be it unto me according to thy word.”….

“And Mary said, “Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.” And the angel departed from her.”…

Luke 1:38 NLT.

Child of God, beloved of God, SERVANT of God, I say all this to confess and reveal my truth and the purposes of God- respectively- for our lives. The Lord God has a way of orchestrating situations so that His Word does not return void. His leadership may be unfounded yet perfect for you. Trust Him. You made a decision to welcome Him into your life(after years of doing things your way). Now let Him do what He does best(among countless things). To GUIDE, PROTECT, and PROVIDE as He leads you into your Promised Lands…

“So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void (useless, without result), without accomplishing what I desire, and without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it”…

Isaiah 55:11 AMP.

“Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart and do not rely on your own insight or understanding, in all your ways know and acknowledge and recognize Him, and He will make your paths straight and smooth [removing obstacles that block your way].

Proverbs 3:5-6 AMP

I can only speak from experience. So I say confidently. There are some promises God has for you, and they WILL require your faith for the most part. What that looks like fleshed out remains to be seen. However, as you CHOOSE to include God in ALL of your plans, everything will work out for your good in the end- even if you don’t understand it right now. It is impossible to please God without faith- so it makes sense why you will be in situations that require your faith to be activated and enlarged. See these opportunities to cultivate your relationship with God. I believe these are times where the Father is setting up His people to achieve unprecedented success in all areas of life. Yet, all that He is requiring (as He did with our ancestors) is the desire to serve Him wholeheartedly…

“And you shall love the LORD your God with all your heart, and with all your soul(life), and with all your mind(thought, understanding), and with all your strength.”..

Mark 12:30 AMP

Those “small” moments that affected me “largely” allowed me to put my trust in God during the times I am “hidden”. A training for reigning that is required to fulfill the Kindom mandate that was predestined for me before the foundations of the world. Many of us did not have the traditional background or the family foundation, or the financial wherewithal to have the experiences that are known to develop some of the world best motivational speakers, singers, dancers, artists, lawyers, Doctors, etcetera. This list can go on. But through Christ- we are able to access spiritual blessings that can manifest practically or supernaturally. The power of God can transform your life. You can go from “average joe” to “superman”. Lol. Seriously, though…

I mean, you can reinvent yourself, become the person God predestined for you to be in Christ. Yes. There is an identity in Christ God preserved for you because He already saw the destruction darkness[ the devil] did to reek havoc in your life, attempting to “kill, steal and destroy” the plans of God.

“For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].”

Ephesians 2:10 AMP

“The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

John 10:10 AMP

“For I know the plans and thoughts that I have for you, ‘ says the LORD, ‘plans for peace and well-being and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.”

My friend. God has plans for you. Beautiful plans that entail a life filled with His spiritual blessings in Heavenly places. Fulfillment of dreams beyond your capacity to conceive how it will happen and how fast it can.

The power of God – His Holy Spirit – His Anointing- is able to do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think.

“Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundanrly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us”…

Ephesians 2:10 AMP

Take some time to be still. To mediate. Clear your mind. You’ve been wanting to get closer to God. To hear Him for further directions. You may feel at a standstill. You may feel like you are not progressing. It’s like one problem after another. You feel like you can’t keep your head above water, much less breathe…

My friend- you can breathe. Make the decision to be purposeful about your time with God. The “little” you are able to use. From turning the phone off. Getting of social media. Taking a day or two off from work. Spending time by yourself. Putting those friendships on hold. WHATEVER you have to do to get closer to your Father, do it. He loves you and has s the best for you. The more your mind is transformed to know, perceive, understand and grow in the revelation of God and His love for you- His creation- the more you are able to discern the lies of the enemy who constantly tries to keep you in bondage after you’ve been released by God’s Truth. The Holy Spirit and His Word(to sustain your freedom).

Jesus Christ is the Way, the Truth and the Life. Without Him, we are nothing but dust under the devil’s feet. Take back control of your life and put the devil under YOUR feet – as Truth says it should be. NOT the other way around. The authority and dominion God has given you over the works of the enemy is in His Word. You are the fulfillment of God’s Word for a time such as this. Just like King David, Joseph, Samuel, and Jesus Christ, the Firt Born Himself.

“Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.”

Luke 10:19 AMP

YOU ARE THE ONE- CHOSEN for a time such as this to accomplish the will of your Father who already made a way for you out of the wilderness. Your journey may have started with the enemy, but it ends with Jesus.

Jesus, as He does with me, will take you by the hand(and have your front, back and center!) and lead you to accomplish things nobody from your background, community, or family has ever done. Our NEW LIFE is in Him, and without Him in our lives AND our decision to FOLLOW HIM – we will be fruitless, never maximizing our potential, manifest our God-given identity and sadly, forfeit God designed purpose.

Jeremiah 29:11 AMP

Begin to be grateful for those small beginnings. Let the “stretching” bring out the best in you. There are people(including your family who rejected you) waiting for you to deliver them. People you don’t know are waiting for. In truth, ALL of creation is waiting on you to take ownership of your sonship in God through Christ Jesus. Amen!!!

Rise up king. Rise up queen. Stand in your authority as a son/daughter of God and take back the authority and dominion you ignorantly gave away. In the name of Jesus, we say- Amen!

God’s love is greater and more powerful than our ignorance and weaknesses.
